STAGE 2 MATCH SUMMARY
Stage 2 - Division 1
Marist Royal
Marist Royal (6/147) beat North Gungahlin (62) by 85 runs
After being sent in to bat Uvi Weerasinghe gave Marist Royal a positive start to the innings smacking plenty of boundaries and rotating the strike with other batters to keep the run rate flowing. After a bit of a collapse in the middle order Harrison Wright and Riley Walters rebuilt nicely to put the team in the drivers seat for when Jack McMahon and Ollie Guile came out to bat. The innings finished with good hitting from Efrem Tijo and Jack Smedley to leave Norths with 148 to win. North Gungahlin came out flying with lots of early boundaries, punishing the loose deliveries from Marist's opening bowlers. A great captaincy move saw Jack McMahon and Riley Walters come on in partnership. Jack completed a double wicket maiden for his first over with Riley bowling very tightly at the other end. From there it was wickets galore for Jack McMahon as he combined with wicketkeeper Ollie Guile who took two stumpings and a catch to cap off Jack McMahon's brilliant all-round day with 5/10 off his four overs. The game was finished comfortably by Xavier Honan and William Loft with Jack Smedley and Darcy Snashall combining for a run-out to claim the last wicket and bowl Norths out for 62.

Marist Royal
Marist Royal (5/76) defeated Yerrabi Diamond (75) by 5 wickets
This Saturday Marist Royal took on Yerrabi Diamond at the Mint Oval. Marist lost the toss and had a bowl first with Lofty claiming 3 wickets in the first couple overs bowling in great partnership with Darc to give a shakey start to Yerrabi's morning. Riley and Haz combined to keep the wickets coming and cause huge problems for the Yerrabi boys. Uvi and Macca were next on to bowl and wickets just kept tumbling. A bit of a fightback caused a delay in getting the last couple wickets but Smeds and Efrem wrapped that up pretty quickly. Marist were very confident going in to bat with Haz and Macca starting quite well but then the first wicket fell. From there wickets were falling like dominoes and soon Marist Royal saw themselves 5/35 with 3 wickets in hand. However, resilience and bravery from Efrem and Macca saved the Marist Royal innings and the game for the boys. Macca retired playing a fighting knock and Efrem showcased his 360 batting skills with an unsuccessful ramp shot. Uvi went out and hit the winning runs which saw an Incredible fightback and courageous effort from the lads. Bowling was tight and encouragement was up again which was great to see.

Stage 2 - Division 1
Marist Royal
Marist Royal (137) defeated Wests Falcons (117) by 20 runs
This Saturday, Marist Royal took on Wests Falcons at Latham 104. Marist lost the toss and were sent in to bat first on a slow, wet outfield. Efrem Tijo and Jack McMahon got Marist Royal off to a solid start before a miscommunication saw Jack McMahon run out. Uvindu Weerasinghe was the next to fall which brought Ollie Guile to the crease. Ollie was off to a flyer smashing a four first ball and plenty of sixes early in his innings. Efrem Tijo retired after a great partnership with Ollie Guile but it was Jack Smedley's turn next. Smashing 3 fours early, Jack Smedley was off to another great start before falling in the next over. Next, out came Darcy Snashall who built on the total with Ollie Guile who then retired. Harrison Wright, Xavier Honan and William Loft were next in respectively. They all came out to the middle with intent to move the game forward and push the scoring along. Darcy Snashall retired so Efrem Tijo and Ollie Guile were back out there together. Efrem Tijo fell which brought Darcy Snashall back out for the last wicket with Ollie Guile. Ollie Guile quickly went to a second career fifty and a second of the season, celebrating in fine style. Marist were bowled out for 137 and Wests were off to a solid start before Harrison Wright took the first wicket to give Marist some momentum. After the first wicket Marist really accelerated with Jack McMahon on fire again and Efrem Tijo steaming in bowling heat from the other end. Wests put up a good fight but the spin wizardry from Jack McMahon and pace from Efrem Tijo was too much. This bowling was well backed up by Uvindu Weerasinghe and Xavier Honan who each contributed solidly. The Wests innings ended after a great direct hit run out from William Loft in close. A special mention to Riley Walters for coming out to the field at Latham to support the Marist Royal boys despite being injured himself.
Stage 2 - Division 1
Marist Royal
Marist Royal (1/249) defeated Weston Creek (90) by 159 runs
Marist Royal have successfully beaten Weston Creek to finish top of the table and go through to finals. Marist Royal won the toss and had a bat first on a dewy Waniassa field. The batting started better than ever with Smeds smashing plenty of boundaries together with Darc to rotate the strike and keep the runs flowing, fast. Smeds went to fifty and it just kept getting better for Marist as Uvi and Macca batted brilliantly with Uvi passing fifty in a flourish of 4s and 6s and Macca retiring for a well-constructed 21. From there, Ollie and Efrem kept cashing in on the boundaries with Ollie not disappointing with some classic Saturday morning power-hitting. Big sixes saw Ollie go to fifty with the innings nicely finished off by Riley and Efrem. With Weston Creek needing 250 off 30 overs Marist Royal felt good going into bowl. However, Weston Creek started well with plenty of boundaries, taking Marist 57 balls to take the first wicket with thanks to some brilliant spin bowling from Uvi and Macca. From there, wickets kept tumbling as Marist brought themselves in good distance of victory, going into the break needing four wickets to win. A wicket keeper change saw Ollie in the outfield and Efrem wicket keeping. A great delivery from Darc saw Marist needing 3 to win with Macca wrapping up the tail nicely, finishing with 4 for the game.
A great win from the lads today, some classy batting from Ollie, Uvi and Jack (congrats on the 50s by the way fellas) and overall a comprehensive win to finish round 22 on a high. Bowling was great after the break and excellent chat in the field.

Marist Royal
Marist Royal (4/241) defeated Norths (92) by 149 runs
It was semi final time for Marist Royal as they rocked up to Marist Oval 3 this Saturday morning. Marist Royal won the toss and batted first with Efrem and Haz starting brilliantly, making plenty of early runs to kickstart the innings. A dismissal saw Uvi at the crease and boy was he on fire today. Uvi and Efrem just kept the runs flowing with Efrem retiring and Uvi reaching fifty in no time just like last week. Ollie started amazingly as always with a boundary to get his innings off and running. Smed, Riley and Darc mimicked exactly what the previous batsmen had been doing, each retiring for 39, 28 and 32 respectively. From there, the boundaries kept on coming for Marist Royal and the innings was very well closed out by Macca, Xavier and Lofty with Efrem finishing on 34*. Marist finished with 241 on the board and felt very confident going into bowl. This was well backed-up by some great opening bowling from Xav and Lofty with maidens rattling the Norths batsmen and making the chase get harder and harder. Some great awareness from Macca and sharp glove work from Ollie gave Marist Royal the first scalp. There were some small partnerships here and there but the pressure from Riley, Darc and Smed in the middle of the innings was too much to handle for Norths. Great bowling from Xav, Macca and Efrem at the death and great work from Lofty and Ollie in the field saw an overall great game from the boys with everyone helping us achieve a GF appearance next week.

Stage 2 - Division 1
Marist Royal
Marist Royal (197) defeated Radford (107) by 89 runs
Marist Royal lost the toss and were sent in to bat at O'Connor 203. Smeds and Harrison were looking great out there, smashing plenty of early boundaries. Next in was Efrem who cashed in on the loose deliveries which helped him and Jack set up the game for the middle order. Riley and Uvi were out there together pushing the scoring along and building a really strong team total. The game was now set up for Ollie, Darcy, Macca, Xavier and Lofty who all batted with intent and moved the game forward. Marist ended up posting 196 and started solidly aside from a couple early 4s but Macca was on fire yet again, taking the first scalp for Marist Royal. A drop catch turned into a run out for Marist Royal after some great awareness from Xavier to throw the ball into to Darcy at the bowler's end. Wickets kept tumbling from there as Jack's magic leggies were doing the job for Marist. Riley and Efrem bowled very tightly, attacking the stumps on a great line and length. 4 wickets needed after the break Riley was very clever with his captaincy choices which caused more dot balls and problems for the Radford boys. Smeds bowled very tightly as Harrison picked up a wicket and Macca was back at it to really close the game for Marist Royal. Uvi bowled very tightly picking up a wicket to leave Marist with just 1 wicket to win. Lofty came back on to bowl and it was a good thing he did because he bowled a peach to remove Radford's last batter. A great win for Marist Royal, more specifically batting, fielding and encouragement from the lads today was excellent.

Stage 2 - Division 2
Marist Blue
T20 - Marist Blue, 3/110, defeated by Wests Fire, 2/111.
Blue were up against West Fire on Tuesday afternoon after a good dose of rain on Monday out at a very drenched Warramanga oval, who have been formidable opponents for us this year. Wests won the toss and elected to bowl which was surprising on the slow wet outfield with lots of wet patches making boundaries very difficult. Blue's batting and running between the wickets was the highlight, with Billy "Konstas" Buser smashing 12 runs off 16 balls, opening the batting with Shamir, and forcing the field back with everyone contributing with the runs, with very intelligent running between wickets taking advantage of quick singles with 4 batters being Ernest, Noah, Hunter and Archie retiring with 20 balls faced with very useful scores taking the total to 110 runs which was amazing based on the condition of the outfield and probably would have been worth 180 runs out at Marist. With Archie (21 off 20 balls), Ernest (14 off 20 balls) and Lachie Edwards (12 off 13 balls) top scoring.
Wests started out slowly, and looked in trouble, and seemed impossible to get out until a few of their big hitters turned on around 6 boundaries, to quickly breach the gap. Ernest and Billy taking a wicket each, with Billy snatching a great caught and bowled, but managed to get home and get the win with 8 balls remaining.

Stage 2 - Division 2
Marist Blue
Marist Blue (6/115) defeated St. Edmund’s (7/112)
Batting- Charlie Foley 33 not out, Hunter Black 28 not out and Lachlan Edwards 11 not out.
Bowling- Shamir Mahmood 2/26, Charlie Foley 2/4, Hunter Black 1/2 and Harvey Fillbrook 1/8.
Perfect conditions for todays match at versus St. Edmund's. Marist won the toss and elected to send them into bat. Marist was very disciplined in the field with great online bowling, awesome boundary fielding and backing up on every throw. St. Edmund's put on some quick runs and reached their 100 in the second last over of the innings.
Marist got off to a great start with Charlie and Hunter hitting the bowlers all over the pitch. All batters contributed to the run chase with lots of great running between the wickets. And what a way to finish it with a six from Charlie!!!! Looking forward to our last T20 next week to complete the regular season. Go the Blues.

Stage 2 - Division 2
Marist Blue
Marist Blue, 3/111 defeated WCMCC Sixers 8/110
With the sun searing down on Phillip Oval, the boys were eager to exact revenge against a highly capable Weston Creek team that had narrowly won their last encounter. Sent in to field first, the opening spell from Hunter and Archie was tight and miserly, giving the opposition little room to score. The following spell from Ernest and Billy yielded the first wicket of the game while continuing to keep the run rate in check. With a few extra drinks breaks due to the heat, the boys showed great determination both in the field and with the ball, eventually bowling Weston Creek out for 110. Ernest and Shamir finished with two wickets each, while a highlight of the innings was a brilliant run-out involving Harvey. Despite the relatively low target, the boys displayed great maturity with the bat, steadily keeping the run rate ticking over without losing wickets. Will O’Brien, Charlie, and Hunter all started strongly, establishing an excellent platform. Archie, who batted tirelessly in the heat, showed exceptional grit and supported several teammates at the crease. His final partnership with Lachie Edwards saw the team chase down the target in the 23rd over, capping off one of their best wins of the season.
Stage 2 - Division 2
Marist Blue
Marist Blue 3/123 defeated Marist Light 7/118
Batting - Harvey Fillbrook 30 off 31 deliveries, Noah Johnston 17/30 and Billy Buser 16/30
Bowling - Harvey Fillbrook 3/18, Isaac Swan 1/6 and Charlie Foley 1/7.
Marist v Marist was a highly anticipated re-match from earlier in the season with finals position on the line.
Light won the toss and sent Blues into bat on a wet pitch and outfield.
Both Billy and Shamir lasted the onslaught from the Light bowlers to retire not out. The remainder of the batting lineup provided valuable runs to reach our total of 123. Harvey was a standout with top score of 30 runs off 31 balls.
Light were keen to start the run chase and with the field starting to dry out they got off to a good start. Light stuck to a solid run rate per over and the game went right down to the last over with Light needing 5 runs off the last over.
Blues stayed strong and took the win. Great work from the whole team and a huge thanks to some Marist boys who were around for rugby grading who supported the team. Next stop, semi final station.

Stage 2 - Division 2
Marist Blue
Marist Blue 4/70 (12.5) defeated Marist Navy 8/69 (18)
Match Summary: Marist Blue vs Marist Navy
In a thrilling schoolboy cricket encounter, Marist Blue emerged victorious against Marist Navy in a game that took place under challenging weather conditions. There was some nervous tension in the air as they had been beaten by this very team just 4 days earlier. The morning was hot and humid, with ground conditions impacted by significant surface water from overnight rain. Despite the moisture, the groundsmen did an excellent job to prepare the pitch for play.
Marist Blue, won the toss and opted to field first. The humid conditions made batting tricky as the ball tended to swing and seam early on. Marist Navy struggled to build partnerships, with their batsmen getting out to disciplined bowling from Marist Blue’s attack. The Marist Blue bowlers maintained tight lines, making run-scoring difficult, and picked up regular wickets throughout Marist Navy's innings. Special mention to Archie who despite being the victim of temporary blindness thanks to a kamikaze flying insect, took 3 great wickets. Marist Navy were bowled out for 69 runs.
In response, Marist Blue started their chase with confidence, although the heat and humidity made for tough batting conditions. A solid opening partnership provided them with the foundation they needed. Chip batted superbly scoring 30 not out. Some strong middle-order hitting ensured they stayed ahead of the required run rate, despite the opposition’s spirited bowling. The match ended in Marist Blue’s favour, as they chased down the target with several overs to spare.
The standout performers of the day were the Marist Blue bowlers, who adapted well to the early conditions, and the Marist Blue opening batsman, who anchored the chase with a composed innings. Chip deservedly won the player of the match. Despite the hot and humid conditions, the players gave their best, and it was an exciting contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

Opening batters Will and Archie formed a good partnership and went to work making quick singles with Archie also finding the boundary on six occassions. Ginninderra ended this partnership with some good bowling, scoring their first wicket. This saw Hunter join Archie at the crease and again these two worked well together continuing to add runs to the scoreboard. Archie retired and this bought in fill in player Issac who battered really well and both he and Hunter retired after facing their 30 balls. The fielding innings was one of the best the boys put together. The boys wanted the win against the Eddie's team, it wasn't just ladder points up for grabs but bragging rights in the Marist - Eddie's rivalry! Bowlers were consistent, catches were taken and throws were accurate - at 25 overs Eddie's were 5/90 and it seemed enivitable that Eddie's would win. Marist Blue
Marist Blue, 1/72, defeated Eastlake Orioles, 70.
1 day: Marist Blue were up against Eastlake out at Deakin oval on Saturday after a soggy Friday night with the storms, which held up great after the wet weather. Blue won the toss and elected to bowl on a slow, wet outfield, where they were devastating with the ball and in the field, and managed to bowl out Eastlake for a mere 70 in the 24th over.
Everyone was on song, with good tight and straight bowling with 6 bowled out, with a pretty even spread of wicket-takers, with Noah, Ernest, Shamir, Billy, Ernest all taking wickets with Charlie Foley, taking two wickets for only one run, and Hunter (1-4) with all boys being economical. The boys were also great in the field with lots of pressure and an amazing catch including a running, diving, high-ball catch by our keeper Lachie Edwards after a top edge.
After Billy's effort in the T20, he was promoted to opener again, where he smashed 17 off 24 balls, Will O'brien came in and put on a very useful 10 runs off 11 balls, however the chocolates went to Charlie Foley who had a day out, and supported Billy at the top smashing 39 runs off a mere 25 balls including six 4's and a sensational 6 off his legs to quickly get the total in only 9.5 overs. Well done boys.
Stage 2 - Division 4
Marist Midnight
Marist Midnight 3/97 defeated Bunyips CC 8/96
Batting: Eli MacKinnon 27 (RTO), Noah Doyle 23 (RTO)
Bowling: Lachie Poole 2/9, Josh Franklin 2/14
WHAT A GAME!!!
The boys all appeared calm on Sunday morning to take on the Bunyips at Hughes Oval for their first ever cricket Grand Final.
Our Captain, Lachie, supported by Vice Captain, Isaac had looked at the Bunyips stats and strategically opted to bowl for the first inning when he won the toss.
Noah and Eli started out strong with some extremely accurate bowling making it hard for Bunyips to score any runs. After only four overs Midnight claimed their first wicket with an awesome runout by Aiden.
At over 5, a cracking bowl by Joel resulted in a great catch by Noah, taking the second wicket of the match.
A few tough overs followed with Bunyips scoring lots of runs. Momentum changed when Lachie got two wickets off two balls, one a a bowl and catch and the other caught by Eli. Josh was next taking two wickets in the 18th over, one a catch by Isaac and the other a catch from behind by our awesome wicket keeper Will, taking the team to 5 catches for the innings. This momentum continued with Isaac getting the next wicket in the 19th over and Noah taking the 8th and final wicket in the 20th over.
With a run chase of 97, the boys were confident they could do it. Think the families were more nervous than the boys.
Our opening order batsman Milan, Shourik and Finn took the pressure all in their stride and did exactly what we had hoped they would do. They held their nerve, tired out the Bunyips opening bowlers and score runs in the process. Eli and Noah were next and the had an impressive partnership, cranking up the run rate scoring 27* and 23* respectively, putting the team in a comfortable position only needing 15 runs to take the win. Lachie and Will were next, both getting some quick runs. Isaac was lucky to get a bat with only 3 runs needed, after two balls it was all done and Midnight had won their first Grand Final.
A HUGE thank you to Simon Henry who has been an AMAZING coach and mentor to the boys over the season. His dedication to the team has been incredible.
To our regular scorers, we would have been lost without you, so THANK YOU. Ditto to our square leg umpires standing out in the heat, doing up a lot of shoelaces.
Congratulations boys, it has been a joy to watch you each week. Like every week, the Grand Final win was a complete team performance with each of you contributing to the win. All of you should be proud of what you brought to the team and the improvement you have all made throughout the season.

Marist Cobalt
Marist Cobalt (5-126) defeated Radford College Magpies (7-89)
Batting: Joshua Moody - 47* Blake Lette - 15* Patrick Coffey - 8*
Bowling: Orlando Pabian - 1/1 Hamish Henry - 1/4 Blake Lette 1/11
Radford won the toss and put Marist into bat. Both teams were steady to start, but soon warmed up just like the weather.
Each batter played their order roll well and even the odd low score was still a great contribution in the partnership. Josh Moody in the middle order top scored on 47. A special thank you to Patrick who abstained from batting again to allow Josh an attempt to reach 50 in the field in the last ball of the innings.
The lads were full of energy after their eight weeks of holiday from school. Sustained presure in the second innings saw wickets, catches and two quick run out with Orlando being the standout bowler. Great way to start the second half of the season. Congratulations Cobalt!

Marist Cobalt 3/143 def Marist Midnight 7/121
Batting: Josh Moody 31*, Patrick Coffey 12*, Matthew Graham 12
Bowling: Matthew Graham 2/12 (approx)
It's always fun to play against another Marist team, and Cobalt played Midnight for the second time this season on Sunday in Pearce. Midnight were looking to even the score and more importantly, so were Midnight's Henry twins against their older brother in Cobalt!
Cobalt were off to a very promising start with Josh Moody as opener alongside Hamish Henry scoring 30 and 11 runs respectively with both retiring. Josh did particularly well given the wet outfield scoring a massive 5 fours! Patrick Coffey was third in and with solid calling scored 12 runs and had a productive partnership with fellow Fortnite enthusiast Orlando Pabian. Midnight got their breakthrough wicket with Malin Palliya Guruge clean bowling Orlando Pabian on his final ball before retiring! Further down the order, Matthew Graham was on track for a massive total until he was bowled for 12 runs off only 14 balls by Noah Doyle. Cobalt batted til the very end of the 30 over with 3-143.
Midnight were up to the challenge with Elijah MacKinnon as opener hitting a quick 10 runs from 10 balls until he was victim to an lbw thanks to George Sanders. The Midnight players were consistent with their scoring, with most players retiring and returning to the crease. Finn Henry and William Costigan the highest scorers. Cobalt's bowling kept the pressure on the batsmen and highlights in the field included a direct hit onto the stumps by Orlando from gulley and a nice catch from Hamish at point! Unfortunately, the app died midway through the second innings and it taught this scorer to always insist that one parent score the old fashiuoned way on paper! It was a close game in the end with Cobalt winning by 22 runs.

Marist Midnight
Marist Midnight (5/147) defeated SEC Cricket Blue (8/80)
Batting: Noah Doyle 27, William Cositgan 27
Bowling: Isaac Swan 2/7, Finn Henry 2/7
A warm morning at Deakin for the semi final against Eddies. Our wonderful captain, Lachie, won the toss and elected to bat. After a quick team talk, Milan and Shourik took to the field as our opening batsman putting on a solid performance, getting through the first 5 overs unscathed. A great confidence builder for the rest of the line up. Noah and Will had an impressive innings both getting 27 valuable runs each for the team. The last ball of the innings saw Joel and Aiden make 5 runs, an aweome way to end the innings.
As always the Midnight's bowling and feilding was exceptional. With only two runs conceeded in the first 4 overs, it was a great start. Josh took the first wicket brining up his 10th wicket for the season, thanks to a brilliant catch by Lachie.
Wickets continued to fall at a steady rate with the spinners Finn, Aiden and Isaac taking 5 wickets between them, with catches taken by Josh, Will and Joel and our first LBW of the season. Eli claimed a great wicket on his last over of the day.
Another wonderful team performance, bring on the Grand Final on Sunday against Bunyips, if the boys play like they played on Sunday they will be hard to beat.
Congraulations boys!!!

Marist Midnight (8/124) defeated Marist Steele (8/52)
Batting: Noah Doyle 55
Bowling: Elijah MacKinnon 2/6, Isaac Swan 2/9
Beautiful morning at Deakin for the return to cricket. The boys were excited to see each other .
Aiden was captain this week and won the toss and elected to batt first.
Up against some extremely strong bowling from Steele, it was not the start to the innings we had expected. An outstanding performance from Noah who retired not out and then returned later in the game to continue his brilliant innings to achieve 55 runs kept us in the game. Retirments from Milan and Shourik also gave all the boys the opportunity to bat this week. We ended the inning with a respectable 124 runs.
After the break, the boys pulled themselves together and took to the filed for what was an exceptional display of their bowling and fielding skills. Building and sustaining pressure resulted in Steele being bowled out 8/52. Noah took the first wicket of the day, earning himself a very well deserved player of the match. Isaac and Eli got two impressive wickets each, Aiden's cracker bowl resulted in a spectacular game changing catch from Will. Boh Will and Lachie also had their eye in resulitng in two perfectly time runouts. Unfortunately some of the boys didn't get the opportunity no bowl this week, look forward to them having a go next week.
As always, the win came down to a whole team effort. Well done to all the boys, another memorable game at Deakin

Stage 2 - Division 4
Marist Cobalt
Marist Cobalt 7/123 defeated Marist Steele 4/65
Batting: Patrick Coffey 40*, Saxon McVie 11*, Matthew Graham 11.
Bowling: Benjamin Fearn 1/2, Patrick Coffey 1/5, Orlando Pabian 1/5, Matthew Graham 1/11.
Notable Players: Patrick Coffey and Saxon McVie with a 69* run partnership for the last wicket to rescue the team from 7/54 to a defendable total.
Game Summary. On what felt like an early winters morning, another Marist v Marist match got underway on a cold and wet field in Deakin. Marist Cobalt won the toss and elected to bat, however this seemed like a bad decision with them losing wickets at a regular rate to be 6 down for 54 after only 11 overs following some accurate bowling from Marist Steele. Patrick Coffey and Saxon McVie dug deep, with some quality defensive shots, and keeping the scoreboard slowly ticking over, they managed to bat out the remaining 19 overs with 69* run, last wicket partnership, to reach a respectable and defendable total of 7/123.
With the sun up and the field dried out, the Marist Steele openers, Kalum Palmer and Levi Mahony, seemed relxed and in control with a steady run rate for the first 8 overs, however once the openers retired, the run rate slowed and the Cobalt bowlers tighened things up, collecting some wickets along the way, notably Benji Fearn 1/2, Partick Coffey 1/5, and Orlando Pabian also 1/5 off their 3 overs each. Despite batting out the full 30 overs, Steele could not regain the rate rate required to reach the total.
A game that could have been over very early without the efforts Patrick and Saxon, managed to go the full distance with Cobalt prevailing over Steele in a good spirited, all Marist affair.

Stage 2 - Division 4
Marist Midnight
Marist Midnight 7/121 defeated by Marist Cobalt 3/143
Batting: William Costigan 19, Finn Henry 19, Lachlan Poole 16
Bowling: Noah Doyle 1/8, Finn Henry 1/4, Milan Palliya Guruge 1/9
The team this week was led by our wonderful captain, Shourik. Cobalt won the toss and elected to bat. Wet conditions made it tough to get a wicket against some strong Cobalt batting. Awesome wickets were however taken by Noah, Milan and an great bowl/catch from Finn. Unfortunately our fielding and and the amount of extras we gave away was let us downl, however a great learning experience for the boys.
The boys did well with the bat, not really suffering any major collapses. A record number of retirmements which was great for the boys confidence. We didn't quite get the win, but did come closer than the last time we played. Maybe next time!!!!!
Congratulations Cobalt on the win.
Stage 2 - Division 4
Marist Cobalt
Marist Cobalt (8/50) defeated by Bungendore Bunyips (2-51)
Batting: Joshua Moody - 16, Hamish Henry - 9, Patrick Coffey - 8
Bowling: Matthew Graham 1/10, Blake Lette 1/13
It was the 1st round of the finals series and Cobalt was revisiting Bungendore, who had won their previous meeting at the Warren Little Ground.
The similarity between this meeting and their previous match up was the hot weather, the poor pitch conditions and the very unfortunate result.
The Marist team had developed very well & grown throughout the season under the guidance of Coach Dion, but today they could not match Bungendores outstanding bowling & fielding.
The men of the match were the regularly under reconised wicket keeper - George and the ever improving Tom.
Cobalt should be proud, with some great wins this summer which looked like lots of fun. It made for very exciting entertainment for the families. Well done lads and many thanks Dion.

In a convincing win against St. Eddies, Midnight batted first and the top order let semi-final nerves get the better of them. It was the mid order who picked up the pace with the team's highest scorers both hitting 27 runs - Noah Doyle and William Costigan! The team scored a big 147 runs to close out the innings. Midnight only needed 21 overs to finish the game, with the highest wicket takers being Isaac Swan and Finny Henry both taking two wickets each. What a game! Marist Aqua Stage 2 wins in a thrilling Friday ungraded against Daramalan Stage 2 Black!
Marist Aqua batted first, posting 8/115 in 18.3 overs, thanks to a blistering knock from Joseph Mason, who retired not out on 60 off 40 balls at a stunning strike rate of 150! He was well-supported by Sourav Karthik Nair, who stayed unbeaten on 27 off 30.

The Marist bowlers kept it tight, with Joseph Mason leading the attack, bagging 3/11 off 2.5 overs! Jack Tunningley (2/2 off 2) was deadly accurate, while Max Frizza and Moksh Shah chipped in with a wicket each. The fielding Was a highlight, with two great catches behind the wickets by Rory and Max.
A fantastic all-around performance from Marist Aqua’s master blaster, Joseph Mason, the standout with both bat and ball! - Lachlan Medlin 25 off 20 balls (2 fours) rtd. not out
- Henry Platt 21 off 20 balls (5 fours) rtd. not out

Slate's last game of the season was played at Duffy oval - with WCMCC winning the toss and batting first. Their opening batsmen of Flynn Pike, Hamza and Mitchell K started in a hurry making 26, 11 and 36 with the latter remaining retired not out and returning to bat as Slate bowlers kept the line and the fielding tight. At the half way mark MCWCC were 77-1 and looking at a big score but Slate had different plans and managed to curtail them to 119 all out with everyone getting in on the wickets. Special mention to Leroy Craven to managed to snag a double wicket maiden in the 12th over.
Slate batting innings started slowly as WCMCC bowled a good line and Slate lost their first wicket in the first over. Henry Platt and Christian Rego stymied the innings and at the 10 over mark, Slate were 50-4 needing another 70 runs. Christian retired and Henry continuing to pick runs with a boundaries in each over. Joshua and Henry maintained an average of 8/9 runs an over until Joshua was caught bringing Lachlan Medlin to the crease who continued at the same pace.

Marist won by one run
What a cracker of a game we had at Curtin District Playing Fields! Marist Aqua - S2 went out to the middle, won the toss, and decided to have a bat first under the evening skies! And boy, did they put on a show!
Leading the charge was Sourav Karthik Nair, who was sensational, staying unbeaten on 30 off 22 balls, striking at over 136—classy stroke play all around! Eric Tunningley, the vice-captain, played a captain’s knock, retiring not out on 21 off 20. Joshua Donaldson chipped in with a handy 15, and Ryan Nammuni Dewage kept it tight with Nathon Relf batting superbly. Notably, Ryan and Nathan achieved their highest scores in the best team batting performance all year.
Marist Aqua - S2 posted 4/128 in their 20 overs, setting up a tough chase for the Hawks.
Eastlake Stage 2 Hawks came out swinging, batting superbly, putting all our bowlers under pressure, but Marist’s bowlers had other ideas! Joseph Mason and Eric Tunningley led from the front, finishing with figures of absolute gold dust!
It all came down to the final few overs, with Eastlake needing 12 runs off 12 balls. A brilliant fielding performance by the whole team won the game. A throw from the boundary by Eric Tunningley hit the stumps, a crucial wicket in the last over.
And the Player of the Match? No surprises there—Sourav Karthik! Unbeaten with the bat, lethal with the ball, and a match-winner through and through! What a game, what a night! Thank you to Moksh's mum (Urshma Shah) for umpiring and to the other parents who were supported throughout the year, but particularly supportive in this game.
It was a brilliant team performance, with 1%'s being the difference between the two sides.

What a final game of cricket to end the season! It was a Friday night thriller that went down to the wire!
Wests White Lions batted first after winning the toss, and after 10 overs they were 60 runs; Marist Aqua was impressive in the second 20 and heavily restricted their total; Westss posted a competitive 6/96 in 20 overs. The Marist Aqua bowlers toiled hard, Eric Tunningley, Joseph Mason, Ryan Nammuni Dewage, and Moksh Shah all chipping in with crucial wickets to keep the target within reach.
