Register now for 2024-25

Registration for season 24/25 is open and closes on 31 August 2024. Season details will follow, with the first match to be played at the start of Term Four. To register, visit the PlayHQ website or the registration link on the MCCCC website: https://www.maristcanberracricket.com.au/registration-information.  Players playing grade or other competitions should register first with MCCCC as their junior club and then request permits for other competitions and their senior club. Early registration is a big help to our registrar Penny Scholtens, and assists with efficient grading and team selection.

Fees. There is a slight increase in fees this season reflecting our club contributions to our facilities refresh and a slight increase in operating costs. The 24/25 fee structure is:

1st player: $235.00

2nd player (sibling discount): $185.00

3rd player (or more): $150.00

Competition Structure. CACT competitions are structured by stages as follows:

Stage 1 teams will comprise boys at ages 8, 9 and 10 in an U11s competition.

Stage 2 will comprise boys at ages 11 and 12 in an U13s competition.

Stage 3a will comprise boys at ages 13 and 14 in an U15s competition.

Stage 3b (or Colts) will comprise boys at ages 15-17 in an U18s competition.

31 August is the cut-off date for age brackets. i.e. if a player is 14 years old on 31 August, they are eligible to play in the stage 3a U15s competition.

General team selection approach.  MCCCC policy (informed by school policy) is that boys will play within the stage applicable to their age group. Boys are eligible to play in a higher stage but only in Div 2 teams. Div 1 teams are selected from within the stage, unless deemed appropriate by the MCCCC committee.  MCCCC will endeavour to place teams in competitions appropriate to their level. As a rule, where possible, and where our players’ skills are at the requisite level, MCCCC will look to field two or more Div 1 teams in each stage. Stage coordinators will advise whether this is appropriate for their stage. It will ultimately be CACT’s decision whether to allow us to field multiple Div 1 teams. The club’s plan is to complete selection trials and name teams by Friday 20 September. Registering before 31 August will ensure you receive all the necessary information on the pre-season, grading and team selection process as details are confirmed.
