Willow Talk #15 - Week Ending 2 March
Player of the Week
Player of the Week is Harvey Fillbrook (Stage 2 Blue) .
When the Blues needed it the most, Harvey delivered 30 runs from 31 balls including two powerful fours that clean beat the outfield. These runs drove the team to a great target to be chased and gave the team a buffer that we could defend. Harvey then followed up with some great bowling by taking 3 wickets for only 18 runs. This was Harvey's best batting performance for the season so far and what a time to bring it. Congratulations Harvey 👍
It was a close run this week and a difficult choice, with great performances by:
Uvindu Weerasinghe (Stage 2 Royal) with a half-century (54 off 30 balls) and great bowling to bring the second innings to life with 2/13 off his 3 overs. Uvi's batting was incredible and his game was supported nicely with some great offies to take key wickets.
Sourav Karthik Nair (Stage 2 Aqua), 30 runs not out, has been so consistent all year, with 203 runs at an average of 101.5 (better than Bradman). His bowling was brilliant (as it has been all year), and his fielding was first-rate. This is another consistent game from a cracker to watch in the future.
Isaac Sladic (Stage 3 Cobalt) for bringing us back from 5/28 to almost delivering a victory chasing 170 with his maiden half century (57). It was a truly remarkable innings. And while we couldn't quite get the job done, falling just short on the last ball, it's an innings we will all remember.
Hamish Foley (Colts Second XI) 84 not out off 70 deliveries with 12 fours and two sixes.
