Blue were up against West Fire on Tuesday afternoon after a good dose of rain on Monday out at a very drenched Warramanga oval, who have been formidable opponents for us this year. Wests won the toss and elected to bowl which was surprising on the slow wet outfield with lots of wet patches making boundaries very difficult. Blue's batting and running between the wickets was the highlight, with Billy "Konstas" Buser smashing 12 runs off 16 balls, opening the batting with Shamir, and forcing the field back with everyone contributing with the runs, with very intelligent running between wickets taking advantage of quick singles with 4 batters being Ernest, Noah, Hunter and Archie retiring with 20 balls faced with very useful scores taking the total to 110 runs which was amazing based on the condition of the outfield and probably would have been worth 180 runs out at Marist. With Archie (21 off 20 balls), Ernest (14 off 20 balls) and Lachie Edwards (12 off 13 balls) top scoring.

 

Wests started out slowly, and looked in trouble, and seemed impossible to get out until a few of their big hitters turned on around 6 boundaries, to quickly breach the gap. Ernest and Billy taking a wicket each, with Billy snatching a great caught and bowled, but managed to get home and get the win with 8 balls remaining.
