It's a quirk of this Div 1 draw that we were once again playing the top-of-the-table Wests. Captain Henry won another toss and decided to have a bat. Hugo and Paddy got us off to a solid start against good bowling, before Paddy unfortunately had to retire hurt. Nico and Jack put on a strong 34-run partnership before Nico was caught. Jack went on the attack, hitting 4 x 4's before retiring for a well-made 34. After drinks, the middle order struggled against Wests' dual spin attack. Oliver and stand-in player Noah Maguire put on another 25 run partnership, getting us to 7/109 at the end of our 30 overs.

Defending a relatively low total against a top team was always going to be a difficult ask. Unfortunately we weren't at our best with the bowling and some dropped catches contributed to Wests scoring freely. Henry was the pick of the bowlers taking the only wicket. Thanks to Noah for filling in.
