Love a good Marist derby, and today didn't dissapoint. There was great chatter, blue war paint and pressure cricket on a scorcher of a day out at Wanniassa. Marist Blue won the toss and elected to bat and after a couple of early wickets via amazing bowling by WIll and Christian we managed to keep Blue's dangerious batters to low scores, Light managed to keep the run rate down on a slow outfield before an amazing cool runout by Christian and Sourav at the bowlers end took a crucial wicket. With the wind picking up the ball was moving around and Darcy who looked dangerous early was bowled by an amazing delivery from Wilson drifting it in to hit the stumps..

From there Blue's tail wagged like an excited rottweiler with Finley (26 off 20) and Samadhi (38 off 41) putting on great runs before Christian managed to sneak one through to hit the stumps thanks to a great in swinger. Amazing high pressure cricket by both teams.

Leo and Steve taking valuable wickets in the wind with some great swinging deliveries finally bowling Blue out for 135.

Light's innings started shakily with Finley bowling a pearler to dismiss the dangerous Christian in the first over. Arjun and Wilson dug in to put on 40 runs, before Wilson who cracked a low and hard pull shot was caught by Patrick at deep square leg who didn't look like letting anything through all day. Great fielding and a tough amazing catch. Amazing Arjun again retired not out on a great score of 26 playing fantastic intelligent shots.

Leo was looking solid before having to retire and leave early and Blue capitalised with some amazing fielding and great bowling before another mature innings by Ernest (17 off 15) and Saurav (10 off 26) again put the cool heads on and got the runs with just over 5 overs remaining. Marist cricket is looking very strong. Great cricket by both teams. Well done boys.
