It was semi final time for Marist Royal as they rocked up to Marist Oval 3 this Saturday morning. Marist Royal won the toss and batted first with Efrem and Haz starting brilliantly, making plenty of early runs to kickstart the innings. A dismissal saw Uvi at the crease and boy was he on fire today. Uvi and Efrem just kept the runs flowing with Efrem retiring and Uvi reaching fifty in no time just like last week. Ollie started amazingly as always with a boundary to get his innings off and running. Smed, Riley and Darc mimicked exactly what the previous batsmen had been doing, each retiring for 39, 28 and 32 respectively. From there, the boundaries kept on coming for Marist Royal and the innings was very well closed out by Macca, Xavier and Lofty with Efrem finishing on 34*. Marist finished with 241 on the board and felt very confident going into bowl. This was well backed-up by some great opening bowling from Xav and Lofty with maidens rattling the Norths batsmen and making the chase get harder and harder. Some great awareness from Macca and sharp glove work from Ollie gave Marist Royal the first scalp. There were some small partnerships here and there but the pressure from Riley, Darc and Smed in the middle of the innings was too much to handle for Norths. Great bowling from Xav, Macca and Efrem at the death and great work from Lofty and Ollie in the field saw an overall great game from the boys with everyone helping us achieve a GF appearance next week.
