Stage 2 - Division 1
Marist Royal
Marist Royal (6/147) beat North Gungahlin (62) by 85 runs
After being sent in to bat Uvi Weerasinghe gave Marist Royal a positive start to the innings smacking plenty of boundaries and rotating the strike with other batters to keep the run rate flowing. After a bit of a collapse in the middle order Harrison Wright and Riley Walters rebuilt nicely to put the team in the drivers seat for when Jack McMahon and Ollie Guile came out to bat. The innings finished with good hitting from Efrem Tijo and Jack Smedley to leave Norths with 148 to win. North Gungahlin came out flying with lots of early boundaries, punishing the loose deliveries from Marist's opening bowlers. A great captaincy move saw Jack McMahon and Riley Walters come on in partnership. Jack completed a double wicket maiden for his first over with Riley bowling very tightly at the other end. From there it was wickets galore for Jack McMahon as he combined with wicketkeeper Ollie Guile who took two stumpings and a catch to cap off Jack McMahon's brilliant all-round day with 5/10 off his four overs. The game was finished comfortably by Xavier Honan and William Loft with Jack Smedley and Darcy Snashall combining for a run-out to claim the last wicket and bowl Norths out for 62.
