 HEALTH & SAFETY

  FIRST AID

Managers and Coaches are given Health & Safety information and protocols prior to each season.

FIRST AID

Each team is provided with First Aid supplies which can be replenished in consultation with the Clubs First Aid Manager or Equipment Officer via the Manager or Coach.

If an injury or incident occurs during training or play the Coach or Manager must fill in the College Incident Report. The College requests that this is done by the team officials, not a parent. The Stage Coordinator must also be made aware so the Club has visibility.

CONCUSSION

If a player has received a knock to the head at any time during training or play, use Play Cricket Concussion and Head Impact Guidelines to assess for systems of Concussion.

MATCH SAFETY

Cricket can be unpredictable, please take a moment to review these key reminders to help ensure a safe and enjoyable match day for all.

  • Helmets are required for all junior batters and wicketkeepers

    • Colts’ wicketkeepers must wear a helmet if within 7m of the stumps

  • No player may field within 10m (approx half the pitch) of the batter unless positioned in the slips

    • For Stage 1, the minimum distance is 15m

  • Players must be taught to watch the ball  — whether batting, bowling, fielding, or preparing to take the field

  • Coaches and Managers are responsible for ensuring the match environment is safe

    • If the ground or weather conditions are unsafe, both teams will agree to call off the game

  • Match warm-ups must be conducted well away from spectators and vehicles

  • Sunscreen, hats and hydration are essential — a runner should be ready to hydrate batters when needed
