STAGE 2
STAGE 2
REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES
STAGE 2 - DIVISION 1 & 2

The Division 1 & 2 competitions are for graded teams which are selected by the club.
-
These competitions record a score for each game, have a season ladder, and play finals.
-
These competitions play T20 Tuesday night and 30 overs Saturday morning, and train once a week (on a day chosen by the coach).
-
Boys should be prepared to commit to three cricket sessions a week if selected in a graded team (Tues, Sat & training day).
-
Any boy who believes he will not have this availability should discuss his situation with the Stage 2 Coordinator prior to grading day.
The club considers Division 1 & 2 to be ‘competitive cricket’. Boys seeking to play in Division 1 & 2 will be placed into teams based on club requirements not friendship groups or coaches’ preferences.
-
Boys who wish to play with friendship groups can be accommodated in Division 3 & 4 or ungraded competition.
-
Coaches who wish to train specific groups of boys can also be accommodated in the Division 3 & 4 or ungraded competition.
To be considered for Division 1 & 2, boys must:
-
Be registered before Stage 2 trials.
-
Nominate their intention to participate in grading in their registration form.
-
Attend grading (if a boy cannot attend grading due to illness or another commitment, they must contact the Stage 2 Coordinator prior to grading day.
-
If a boy is currently playing for a representative team (U14 Comets, SSACT SERA or STRA) this must be declared on his registration form.
-
Boys who are not selected for a graded team will be placed into the Div 3 & 4 competition and may nominate friends they wish to play alongside.

As a general guideline, boys who wish to attend Stage 2 grading should:
-
Have played Stage 2 cricket in a previous season (for Marist or another club), or
-
Have played Stage 1 graded cricket, or
-
Have played Stage 1 ungraded cricket but performed in the top 20% of players in their competition (according to PlayCricket Statistics).

STAGE 2 - DIVSION 3 & 4

The Division 3 & 4 competitions are for developing cricketers.
-
These competitions record scores for each game, have a season ladder, and play finals.
-
These competitions play 30 overs Sunday morning, and train once a week (on a day chosen by the coach).
-
Attending grading is optional. If a boy does not attend grading, then statistics from PlayCricket will be used to estimate skill level and placement.
-
The skills difference between Division 4 and Ungraded (see below) is minimal. Players are largely interchangeable so families can effectively choose to play Ungraded on Friday evening or Division 4 on Sunday morning, and register accordingly.
To play Division 3 or Division 4 cricket, boys must:

Be registered before registration close.
-
In your registration form, please indicate you wish to play Sunday cricket.
