It was a scorching hot day in Wanniassa, where Marist Blue took on Marist light on a Saturday morning. The Captains Sam and Flynn won the toss and chose to bat. Marist Light claimed early wickets, but Sam and Finley responded with steady scoring. They got a partnership of 60 and Sam scoring 38* not out and Finley scoring a classy 26 setting our score from 4 – 45 to 5 – 102. Yash scored a fine knock of 22 of 24 hitting 4 boundaries. Marist Blue scored a nice 135. In the first over, Finley got a yorker delivery and got an early wicket after 3 balls. After recovering from an injury, Paddy got his first wicket where Yash took an amazing catch, next wicket was a great catch by Flynn where he stood his ground when the ball blasted straight to him. Will got a great 2 wickets for 8 runs and Darcy bowled an amazing ball to get his wicket. Wickets started to fall quick until the 7th wicket partnership where Marist Light put up a good fight and won the game Overall the team performed really well as a cohesive unit and it was an absolute pleasure to be apart of such a great group of boys. Honourable mention To Nirodha for being the game day coach and the excellent job he did.
