Another battle of the titans, With finals looming and after Dominating Vipers in T20 on Tuesday by 50 runs, Light faced a much hungrier opponent in Wests on Saturday, handing Light only their second defeat all year. After losing the toss and being sent iin to bowl, Marist was on top early with Will Frost taking two quick wickets, one caught behind with a great catch by Noah and Steve 1 wicket smashing into the stumps in the opening pair spell. Lights bowling by our openers was fantastic, only betted by Wests quick singles and smart batting as the next wicket didn't fall until the 20th over until Ernest broke through with a sensational ball, knowcking over the castle finally. Wilson broke through with another catch by Noah. Vivaan's bowling was straight and tight, finally being rewarded hitting the stumps in the 24th over until Steve got a run out in the last over with Wests outstanding between the wickets getting to a total of 169 to give us plenty to work on for finals.

Marist lights batting openers in Christian and Arjun were outstanding, scoring at 10 runs an over. Both batters were unlucky not to retire, but putting on 62 runs in a little over 6 overs, both falling in consecutive balls in the 8th over getting Light off to a great start. Steve and Wilson came to the crease and Steve continued where he left off on Tuesday hitting a quick fire 23 off 13 balls, before Wilson was unlucky popping one up caught, before Steve was caught 2 overs later.

Noah came to the crease determined to get Light over the line hitting 16 off 18, but watched a collapse around him losing the remaining 4 wickets quickly sealing the game for Wests.

It's going to be an exciting finals series with Light almost certainly facing Wests again in the 1 Day semis with this loss happenning at the right time keeping us in the hunt. But making the T20 Grand Final as minor premiers, was certainly the highlight of the week, cementing a final against Ginninderra next Tuesday. Well done boys, we're so proud of you.
