Round 1 against CGS kicked off on a sunny Sunday morning at the Pearce oval. With CGS winning the toss they chose to bowl first hoping the early morning dew might work in their favour.

The top order lost their wickets fairly early to some sharp bowling. As the innings progressed, the team settled and the tail end batsmen finished strong with Dan Duffy retiring not out on the top score of 28.

Following the break, CGS took to the crease to face a formidable bowling attack across the board. Christopher Starr took a great catch off Evan Lawrence, Ben Bondietti executed an impressive caught and bowled and Dan Duffy and George Meatheringham clean bowled a few.

Although Marist won by 105 runs both teams showed great sportsmanship. One take away from Midnight's fantastic all-round team performance is to really fine-tune their communication and adapt to the rhythm of running between the wickets.

Plenty to be excited about!
