On a extremely hot Saturday morning out at Kambah, Marist won the toss and decided to field first. Great decision as it was only going to get hotter in the field as the day went on. Marist put a lot of pressure on this top 3 ANU team restricting their run rate and taking two early wickets. They restricted ANU to a respectable 5-143 off 30 overs.

Marist faced a very tall, fast and accurate ANU bowling attack. With the wind picking up Hamish Henry and Finn Henry battled hard to retire not out laying the groundwork for the team. It took the 17th over until ANU took a wicket against our resilient Marist team. A solid platform was laid for batting contributions by Nate Hamilton and Blake Lette to contribute late in the batting order. The players can be very proud of their fighting spirit in both their batting and bowling efforts on the day.
