It was a fantastic contest on Saturday. Marist’s openers were met by some brilliant bowling, and we found ourselves in a tricky spot at 3/12. Then the partnership between Noah Doyle and Will Costigan steadied the ship. With valuable contributions from Lachie Poole, Evander Jose and Kalum Palmer, Marist finished with a solid 172 and our first 50 of the season, well done Noah!

An early breakthrough, with a superb run-out from Will Costigan in the second over, gave us some much-needed energy. But Eastlake’s batters proved challenging, and they made us work hard for every wicket. Eastlake had posted 137 before a brilliant spell from Divij Shah and Kemith Orawatte that saw four quick wickets gave Marist a fighting chance. Despite their efforts, Eastlake chased down the total in the 27th over to claim the win.
