Another close game for Royal this week, with some great performances in a disappointing loss.

After electing to field first to avoid the worst of the heat, Royal got away to a slow start. A great direct hit runout from Ned M helped get us back in the game, followed by Harvey bowling out the Spartans strongest batter. Further wickets to Will (2 and a runout), Angad, Tom and Chip saw YDCC bowled out for 194.

A big score was always going to be a tricky chase, but we gave it our best shot, especially Angad (46) and Chip (45) who set us a solid platform, along with key contributions from Tom, Ned S and Ned M. Unfortunately we ran out of time to reach the total, but the boys tried right until the very end.

Marist Royal (2/107) defeated Eastlake Eagles (5/103)

A solid return to T20 cricket for Marist Royal. Angad took a wicket first ball and didn't concede a run off his bowling, with wickets to Jobe, Chip, Ned M and Dimitri to round out the innings. Clean power hitting from Hunter, Chip and Ned M followed in our batting innings, with Ned S reliably ticking the score along to comfortably get us home. Well done boys!
