In probably our best win of the season, the Royals defeated the ladder-leading Mavericks, who had been undefeated in the season to date. The win can be attributed to valuable contributions from the whole team, with bat, ball and in the field.

Angad played an incredible all-round game today with 58* and 3/26, setting up our innings for a competitive total. Will (20 runs, 1/15) and Jobe (21 runs, 2/6) dug us out of a hole during our batting innings with a great and mature partnership, then teamed up with the ball to take 3 wickets in 3 overs to turn the game in our favour. Harvey (17) played some great shots, including a beautifully-timed straight six, while Dimitri (15) was also looking solid. With Chip (1/5) and Dimitri (1/13) taking the other wickets, one of the best things abuot the game was the great catching and committed fielding. Dimitri took an absolute screamer to re-energise the team, while Harvey, Ned S and Hunter all took difficult chances, which was the difference today. Ned M was also really impressive behind the stumps.

Best of all the boys had fun - encouraging and supporting each other, and always believing that they could win.
