Stage 2 Div 1
Marist Royal
Marist Royals defeated by Radford Ospreys
After winning the toss and sending Radford in to bat, the Royals got off to a great start with Will taking a wicket on the fourth ball of the innings with a sweet catch taken by Ned. While our bowling was tight, the Radford batters were watchful taking advantage of the few loose balls. It wasn’t until the 13th over when Ned featured again by taking the wicket of Radford’s strongest batsman on ball 29 with Harry taking the catch as wicket keeper.
In the 18th over Tom took his first wicket with a great catch taken by Hunter. In the following over Will took a screamer, diving to his right to take a catch off Harry’s bowling. A great run out by Harry, and then Will followed up his catch with another in the 24th over off Hunter’s bowling. In the 29th over, Tom cleaned up the tail with two more wickets, finishing with figures of 3/4. Radford finished with a very reachable total of 150.
The Royals batting got off to a good start with what looked like a solid partnership between Ned and Angad. Unfortunately, we came up against some very sharp bowling from Radford with one bowler taking 5 wickets. We suffered a batting collapse, losing 3 wickets in the 11th over, leaving Ned to anchor the batting to the end.
We'll learn from this game and work to bounce back next week!
