Marist Sapphire (S2) produced a strong all-round team performance, highlighted by disciplined bowling and sharp fielding that kept the opposition under constant pressure throughout
The bowling attack worked well as a unit, with Jack Tunningley leading the way with an excellent spell of 3 overs for 11 runs and 2 wickets, providing key breakthroughs at crucial moments. Joseph Walshe also made an impact, picking up 1 wicket for just 9 runs from his 2 overs. Tight spells from Ashton Dempsey (2 overs, 7 runs) and Edward Tunningley (2 overs, 9 runs) helped restrict scoring and maintain control.
The rest of the bowling group showed great consistency, with Rory Carey, Benjamin Fearn, Max Frizza, Hamish Carling, and Tomoki Horikawa all contributing solid overs and backing each other up well, demonstrating excellent teamwork and discipline.
In the field, Marist Sapphire was outstanding. Rory Carey and Benjamin Fearn each took a catch and were involved in a run-out, showing great awareness and safe hands. Additional run-out contributions from Ashton Dempsey and Edward Tunningley reflected the team’s energy, communication, and commitment in the field.
