Marist Sapphire finished the season with a spirited effort against TVJCC Magpies. Fielding first, the team showed plenty of energy, with Rory Carey producing a stunning 3/2 including a maiden, while Henry Denny, Jack Tunningley and Max Frizza all chipped in with wickets. The innings finished on a high with a wicket off the final ball, and sharp work in the field from Ashton Dempsey (catch) and runouts from Tomoki Horikawa and Rory Carey kept the pressure on the Magpies.


Chasing 108, Sapphire batted with determination and intent. The boys ran hard between the wickets, taking every scoring opportunity to keep the scoreboard ticking. Edward Tunningley led the way with 21 retired not out, supported by Henry Denny (9 retired) and Tomoki Horikawa (5 retired), while contributions from Rory Carey and Jack Tunningley helped keep the chase alive.


Sapphire finished on 6/96, falling just short, but the team never lost their enthusiasm. Every player contributed with bat, ball or in the field, showing fantastic team spirit, energy, and togetherness throughout the match, closing out the season with pride and positivity
