Willow Talk #5 - week ending 16th November

Stage 1 Div 1

Marist Sky

Marist Sky (216) defeated TVJCC Cobras (124)

Marist Sky faced Tuggeranong in challenging conditions early on, losing the toss and being sent in to bat on a wet wicket and outfield. Despite the damp surface, the batting lineup showed composure and intent from the outset. The team raced to 100 runs in the first ten overs, laying a strong foundation for a competitive total. Every player contributed valuable runs, ensuring the innings remained solid throughout.

The standout batting performances came from Henry and Kaveer, who both played with flair and aggression, each scoring 31 runs off just 15 balls. Their quick-fire knocks added crucial momentum and kept the scoreboard ticking.

With the ball, Marist Sky’s attack was neat and disciplined. Hardy and Danny led the charge, claiming multiple wickets through pinpoint accuracy and pace. Their efforts were backed up by tight, committed fielding across the park. The team worked tirelessly to restrict Tuggeranong’s scoring opportunities, cutting off boundaries and forcing them to rely on singles and running between the wickets.

Ultimately, this was a true team effort. Contributions came from every player—whether with bat, ball, or in the field—and together they secured a well-deserved victory. As captain, it was a proud moment to lead such a united and determined side.
