Well, summer finally decided to turn up with a vengeance, one of the hottest days in many years.
We seem to have cycled through all opposition teams and ended up back at the start, playing Yerrabi Warriors again. This time they seem to have learnt a few things in their journey and competed strongly picking up 10 wickets in this match, the most we have bled in the season.
Marist loss the toss and were sent into bat during the cooler part of the morning (meaning we had to field in the hotterportion). Possibly Fortnite was played too much in the holidays or Yerrabi bowled and fielded well, I’ll go with the latter. The majority of wickets were runouts, Marist lads may have hoped for some shade next to stumps and took off for some sanctuary, crazy stuff.
Ignore my whimsical thoughts, back to the batting. Oliver and Henry started a great opening partnership scoring 48 runs in 30 balls. Neil and Harrison delivered a more considered couple of overs with 37. Harry Copeland pushed through some trying bowling contributing 6 along with Hardy’s 17. Kaveer declared his presence with a 6 and adding to the tally with 22. Daniel came in last and did a lot of running for 12.
The fielding, as per usual, was top notch, keeping the majority of Yerrabi batters to single digit totals. Kaveer stumped a fella, with Hardy and Oliver also contributing to runouts. A wicket each was taken by Kaveer, Hardy and Neil.
Not their biggest win, but they were truly aura farming with a top shelf effort coming off the back of holidays, Fortnite and 6/7. It was full cap. Only four more games till end of season, keep up the work gents. 6/7
