MARIST VS EDDIES ON OVAL 3 - BIG RUNS AND A HAT TRICK TO REMEMBE

It was an action-packed day of cricket as Marist took on Eddies, with some fantastic individual performances and a memorable finish!

Marist won the toss and elected to bat, with Jack Smedley and Aly opening the innings. Jack wasted no time getting the scoreboard ticking, smashing an impressive 69 off just 39 balls! Angad Singh kept the runs flowing with a brilliant 54 off 45 retiring not out, while Darcy Snashall added 43 off 37. Jordan Fosberry chipped in with 24 off 17. After 30 overs, Marist had posted an impressive 5/260. The batters had done their job — now it was the bowlers' turn!

Eddies started strongly, with their openers looking comfortable at the crease. Nirodha Pathmaperuma claimed the first wicket in the 6th over, followed by Liam Morrison in the 8th. Eddies continued to look dangerous until Liam produced a brilliant direct hit run out, swinging the momentum Marist's way. And then came Charlie Foley. Charlie entered the attack in the 17th over and picked up a wicket, but his best was yet to come! In the 21st over, Charlie's third and what would become the final over of the match, he delivered something special. A hat trick off the first three balls! And just to top it off, Charlie claimed another wicket off the final ball of the over! What an incredible finish! Eddies were bowled out for 111, giving Marist a convincing 149 run victory.

A fantastic all-round team effort, with strong batting performances, important breakthroughs, a game-changing run out and an unforgettable spell from Charlie.
