Stage 3 Div 1
Marist Sky
Marist Sky lost to Canberra Grammar by 10 runs
Marist Sky lost the toss and were sent in to bowl first. Opening the bowling was Matty and Will Spencer who got us off to a solid start, putting the pressure on CGS straight away. LJ brought the first wicket with a great caught and bowled and followed it up with a second the ball after. From there, wickets kept coming for Marist as Matty took a brilliant diving catch at square leg. However, a large partnership saw the innings go deeper than expected with the bowling well finished by Kalindu and Darcy who took 4 wickets. The batting started well with Uvi smashing boundaries and making his way to 50. Depsite a solid start, Marist lost wickets quickly and were fighting to stay in the game. Some good individual knocks were not enough to keep the boys in it however, being bowled out for 146, 11 runs short of the target.
Marist Sky also won their T20 against Marist Royal on Wednesday night. After winning the toss and batting first, the Marist Sky innings was started brilliantly by Jack and LJ. Ollie came in at 3 and built a great partnership with Jack who retired for 41 and Ollie for 54. Terrific late power hitting from Kalindu and Tom saw the boys finish on 147. Early wickets from Manveer and Darcy saw the pressure pile on the opposition. Dot balls, and most importantly two wickets to Tippo, Nico and Uvi was the key to a victory which put Marist Sky in the T20 final. (Marist Sky won by 63 runs)
