On Friday 27th at Garran Oval, MCCCC Aqua played TVJCC Magpies. The Magpies won the toss and chose to bowl, putting early pressure on Aqua with accurate bowling. Opener Julian Baseby was unfortunately dismissed for a duck, giving Aqua a challenging start. Ryan Nammuni Dewage and Chayan Mehta worked hard at the crease but found runs difficult to come by against tight fielding and many dot balls. Daniel Trinca and captain Thomas Ferrari helped lift the scoring with several boundaries, including a six from Tom, before being dismissed. Lawrence Friesen added two boundaries, while Vincent Imbriano was unlucky to fall for a duck. Late contributions from Edmund Dziedzic and Fred Fiesen helped Aqua finish on 5/106.

The Magpies began their innings steadily, finding regular runs and making it difficult for Aqua to break partnerships. Aqua’s bowlers showed persistence, with Rami Moore producing a strong spell that included a wicket for a duck. Despite the team’s efforts in the field, the Magpies reached the target, finishing 2/107 to take the win.
