Stage 2 Friday
Marist Aqua
Marist Aqua (7/56) tied with Marist Teal (3/56)
Marist Aqua and Marist Teal played out a tightly contested draw on Friday, finishing level at 56 runs each. Aqua started strongly, with Daniel Trinca’s excellent opening spell claiming two early wickets, including a golden duck, to set the tone for a disciplined fielding display. Captain Lawrence added a well-taken catch as Aqua kept Teal’s scoring low and slow.
Teal’s strategic use of one or two of their key bowlers only kept Aqua under pressure. Batting was challenging for both sides, with steady contributions from Julian Baseby, Tom Ferrari, and captain Fred Fiesen helping Aqua stay competitive. Apart from few hiccups, the match was played in good spirit by the Aqua lads. Aqua’s calm and methodical approach reflected the teams maturity and their sportsmanship was most notable by spectators.
