Marist Royal
Marist Royals 235 defeated YDCC 133
Batting: Ben Van de Meeberg 26
Bowling : Ollie Henry 4/14
Playing for the first time on home grounds at Marist oval, Marist was sent in to bat by YDCC and the team charged ahead with confidence under the leadership of Captain Ben.
Everyone contributed with the bat, with all team members making double-digits. Ben hit a career best of 26 runs, which was a fitting end to his last game with the Royals for this season. Conor Casey also contributed an impressive 20 runs and Ollie Henry delivered a season best of 19 runs to put the Royal team in a strong position.
Today was particularly notable for Ollie Henry who reached the 100 run milestone for the season.
As Marist stepped up to bowl, Ollie Henry was in excellent form and took four wickets, with three falling in quick succession in the 5th over. Wickets were also taken by Sam, Lewis, Ethan and Tom, with the team collectively taking 13 wickets in total. In the field, Ethan Parry took three amazing catches including an absolute screamer on the boundary.
The final game before the mid-season break was filled with high spirits and the boys demonstrated significant growth both individually and as a team since they first met pre-season in October. The Royals have gone into the holiday break well positioned for the remainder of the season and looking forward to resuming in January!
