It was a cracker of a Friday! The sun was shining nicely over Hughes Oval, and all the players arrived excited, smiling, and ready for a great game of cricket.

The Hurricanes won the toss and decided to send the Scorchers in to bat first on the warm evening. Pranav and Johan opened the batting, looking confident. The bowlers kept the pressure on, and the score moved slowly at first with a few no-balls and byes, but both boys did well to protect their wickets.

Then came Austin and Hayden, who built a strong partnership together. They ran hard between the wickets and found some lovely shots. Hayden really lit up the field, hitting 5 beautiful boundaries! The Hurricanes’ fielders had to sprint all over the ground trying to stop the ball. Hayden batted with great focus and finished not out on 27 runs. A top performance!

The Scorchers were fired up. On the very first ball, they took a wicket! The team stayed energetic and kept hunting for wickets throughout the Hurricanes’ innings.

After his strong batting performance, Hayden came in to bowl and continued his magic—taking important wickets and keeping the batters guessing.

The Scorchers’ fielding was tight and sharp. They stopped boundaries, backed each other up, and made it hard for the Hurricanes to score. The pressure continued to build, and it became very tough for the Hurricanes to chase down the target.
