Marist Sky
Marist Sky (220) defeated Queanbeyan Blue (130)
On Saturday morning, Marist played Queanbeyan on a wet and damp field. Marist decided to bowl first. This meant Queanbeyan had to time and strike the ball harder for scoring runs.
As the first 10 overs went by, Queanbeyan had a steady start hitting multiple boundaries, but Marist kept bowling well. Harrison took three wickets, Henry and Harry followed it to keep the pressure on. Marist’s fielding was strong especially Ollie’s throw running from the point and hitting the stumps directly resulting in a run out.
When it was Marist’s turn to bat, Queanbeyan set off taking a wicket on the first ball of the second innings. Hardy and Neil motivated each other and kept the momentum going.
Daniel and Henry came in, held their nerves well and hit shots around the field making the fielders run hard. But Queanbeyan were positive, came back hard taking 2 valuable wickets before the drinks break.
The next 10 overs, Harrison and I didn’t loose a wicket adding 50 runs partnership. The last 5 overs, rain hit us again. Harry and Ollie kept the chatter and were well focussed scoring some fast runs.
In the end, Marist finished strongly and won the game. As a captain, it was a proud moment and looking forward to have fun and working hard for the rest of the season.
