Willow Talk #9 - week ending 14th December

Stage 1 Div 1

Marist Sky

Marist Sky (266) defeated CGS Stage 1 Graded (146)

Marist won the toss choosing to field. CGS set a hard score for us to beat, finishing the innings on 133. Marist did not make it easy though, both Hardy and Kaveer performing incredibly well with Kaveer 3/6 and Hardy 2/9. Danny backed them up with 1/13 and Harrison only giving 0/4. Ollie took a great catch and the boys put on a reliable performance not giving too many runs away.

Marist had their best batting result of the season with five players scoring more than 30 runs including three players hitting 6s. Ollie was batting on a bad leg which prevented him from running so he resorted to hitting boundaries including an amazing 6 off his first ball, ending on 38 (17).

Harrison opening with Ollie had an impressive performance, hitting a 4 and batting with confidence to finish with 12 runs.

Hardy and Danny showed great skill by hitting ten 4s between them, Danny hitting a six and each finishing on 35 runs.

Henry and Harry kept the momentum up. Henry hit five 4s and smashed two 6s with him finishing on 41 (17). The two boys kept the pressure up with plenty of running between the wickets. Harry finished on 22, scoring two 4s.

Kaveer closed the innings with finesse, blasting six 4s and got plenty of quick runs showing great technique and sportsmanship, ending with 34 (18).

An amazing performance from both teams with the match finishing with MCCCC on 266 and CGS on 146.
